How to adjust the temperature of airflow spray dryer?

Based on our intuition, it seems that energy efficiency can be improved by raising the temperature. It easily provides a solid thermodynamic foundation. To prevent excessive drying, in most cases, overload operation is not recommended, while paying attention to temperature regulation.

For airflow spray dryers, although the method of adjusting the temperature reduces energy consumption in practice, it is not an efficient method. The temperature should not decrease, but should increase as the quality of the product increases. At the same time, the exhaust air volume should be reduced to increase the humidity to a certain level, so that the reduced drying speed can guarantee the required moisture in the finished product. This new operation may consume less energy than ordinary methods because the reduction in airflow is far greater than the increase in temperature.

In practice, energy efficiency improvements are based on the type of drying equipment and the specifics of each application. However, in addition to product quality, there may be other issues, such as pressure control inside the cabinet or in the condenser. These factors may limit exhaust velocity.

To reach the next level, the mass flow rate of the exhaust gas will be reduced so much that even if the temperature is kept at a certain high level, the overall energy consumption will be reduced. This is achieved by looking for humidity levels in both exhaust conditions. It should be remembered that the exhaust rate is inversely proportional to humidity.
