Atomization form of spray dryer atomizer

Spray drying is an atomization of a liquid raw material into droplets, and the droplets come into contact with hot air in a drying chamber. Sprays are produced with rotary (wheel) or nozzle atomizers. Evaporation temperature and airflow conditions for water formation from liquid droplets and dry particles are controlled. Powder is continuously discharged from the drying chamber. It can be seen how important the atomizer is in the spray dryer.

Different atomizers can produce different atomization forms. According to different atomization forms, spray dryers can be divided into airflow atomization, pressure atomization and centrifugal atomization.

1. Air-flow atomization uses compressed air (or water vapor) to spray from the nozzle at high speed and mix with the material liquid transported by another channel. With the help of the friction force generated by the relative speed difference between the air (or steam) and the material liquid, the The feed liquid is dispersed into mist droplets. The airflow atomizer has a simple structure and can treat a wide range of objects, but consumes a lot of energy.

2. Pressure atomization: The liquid flows at a high speed inside the pressure atomization nozzle. After the liquid is sprayed from the pressure atomization nozzle, it splits into droplets from the shape of a liquid column, and the droplets are broken again in the gas.

3. Centrifugal atomization uses the centrifugal force generated by the high-speed rotating disc or wheel to throw out the material liquid, making it contact with the drying medium to form droplets. Centrifugal atomizers are less affected by feed (such as pressure) changes; simple control.
