Indirect fired (electrically heated) thermal desorption unit with vapor recovery, mounted on skids 2-60 feet long by 10 feet wide, making it mobile and easy to install. The system is very suitable for the treatment of drilling mud, oily soil or drilling cuttings by centrifugal spray drying, and the processing capacity can reach 2 tons per hour. The skid and primary units consist of a 2 to 36" long x 12" diameter screw conveyor, the screw is a cryogenic (550F) screw that moves all low end hydrocarbons and moisture from the contaminated material to the contaminated material After passing through the first screw, enter the second screw, the high temperature (950F) centrifugal spray can remove the heavier hydrocarbons, and the clean solids are discharged into the material at the end of the device for discharge.
The main unit is heated by a series of electric heating elements fixed to the conveyor shell and insulated with high temperature insulation blankets.
Gas is removed from the main desorption unit by means of a positive displacement pump connected to the vapor recovery unit (VRU) by the spray dryer, a gas extraction pipe with quench nozzles and a gas extraction manifold running through the entire screw conveyor jacket.
The VRU consists of two systems, one for recovering lighter hydrocarbons and the other for recovering heavier hydrocarbons. Each VRU system consists of a vertical quencher, primary rejector, secondary high pressure rejector, positive displacement pump and oil filter. The system uses the recovered oil as a quenching fluid, and the recovered oil and gas can be stored and used or sold.
