The spray dryer is a mechanical device that uses heat energy to reduce the moisture content of materials, and is used to dry objects. The dryer vaporizes and escapes the moisture in the material (generally refers to water or other volatile liquid components) by heating to obtain a solid material with a specified moisture content. The purpose of drying is to meet the needs of material use or further processing.

Spray dryer is a method of systematic technology applied to material drying. After the thinner is atomized in the drying room, the water vaporizes quickly in contact with the hot air, and the dry product is obtained. This method can directly dry the solution and emulsion into powder or granular products, which can save the evaporation, crushing and other processes.

The hot air temperature of the spray dryer will obviously affect the bulk density of the product. High-temperature hot air tends to have a low density because hot air dries, hardens the surface and expands with residual moisture, and promotes the formation of balloon-like hollow particles. In case of high apparent density (low volume) or solid particles, the design should also not be exposed to high temperature hot air with newly formed droplets. In drying chemicals, air temperature to 538 degrees Celsius product particle size. There is sufficient pressure on the outer surface of the hole to detect residual steam. In spray drying food, the air temperature is usually not more than 177 degrees Celsius, so that the chemically formed hollow particles are not as large as the initial diameter.
