Description
(Instant Tea Powder) Spray Dryer is the most widely used process in liquid shaping technology. It is suitable for producing powder and granules solid products from solution, emulsion, soliquoid, and pumpable paste materials. Therefore, when the particle size, final moisture, bulk density and granules shape meet the accurate standard, centrifugal spray drying is a ideal drying process.
Working Principle
Liquid material is atomized through a special pressure nozzle with a high-pressure pump. Hot air enters the dryer after being adjusted by an air distributor. The material and hot air is mixed in the dryer, rapidly carries on heat and mass transfer. Powder or granular products are produced in a very short time. Products with larger particles size are discharged from the bottom of the dryer, smaller particles enter the cyclone with hot air. The exhaust gas is discharged into the air after dust removal in a scrubber. The dryers can be divided into high, middle and low-pressure spray dryers according to different pressures of atomization, while taking into account different flow fields, they are divided into co-current, fountain mode and counter-current spray dryers.

Applicable Materials

Instant Tea Powder
Instant tea is a powder in which water is added, in order to reconstitute it into a cup of tea. The earliest form of instant tea was developed in the United Kingdom in 1885.[1]:538 A patent was granted for a paste made of concentrated tea extract, sugar, and evaporated milk, which became tea when hot water was added. However, no notable developments were made until spray drying technology allowed for drying the tea concentrates at a temperature which did not damage the flavors of the product.
Food: Amino acid, vitamin, egg powder, bone powder, protein, milk powder, blood powder, soy sauce powder, coffee, tea powder, glucose, pentadiene carboxylic acid, pectin, flavours, vegetable juice, yeast, starch, etc.
Ceramic: Alumina, zirconia, magnesium oxide, Titania, pottery clay, china clay, all kinds of magnetic porcelain and metal-oxides, etc.
Chemical: Aluminum polychloride, disperse dyes, reactive dyes, organic catalyzer, white carbon black, washing powder, zinc sulfate, silica, sodium metasilicate, potassium fluoride, calcium carbonate, potassium sulfate, inorganic catalyzer, wasted liquid, etc.

Advantages of spray drying equipment
(1) During high-speed drying, the surface area will be greatly increased after spraying the raw material liquid. In the hot air stream, 95%-98% of the water can evaporate instantly. It only takes a few seconds to complete drying.
(2) This is particularly suitable for drying heat-sensitive materials. The final product has good uniformity, fluidity and solubility. The purity of the final product is high and the quality is also high.
(3) The production procedure is simple, and the operation and control are easy. Liquids with a moisture content of 40-60% (for special materials, the content can reach 90%) can be dried into granular product powder once. After drying, there is no need to pulverize and sieving, thereby reducing the operating procedures in production and improving product purity. The particle size, porosity and water content of the product can be adjusted by changing the operating conditions within a certain range. It is very convenient to control and manage.
