Description
(Rich Milk Powder) Spray Dryer is the most widely used process in liquid shaping technology. It is suitable for producing powder and granules solid products from solution, emulsion, soliquoid, and pumpable paste materials. Therefore, when the particle size, final moisture, bulk density and granules shape meet the accurate standard, centrifugal spray drying is a ideal drying process.
Working Principle
Liquid material is atomized through a special pressure nozzle with a high-pressure pump. Hot air enters the dryer after being adjusted by an air distributor. The material and hot air is mixed in the dryer, rapidly carries on heat and mass transfer. Powder or granular products are produced in a very short time. Products with larger particles size are discharged from the bottom of the dryer, smaller particles enter the cyclone with hot air. The exhaust gas is discharged into the air after dust removal in a scrubber. The dryers can be divided into high, middle and low-pressure spray dryers according to different pressures of atomization, while taking into account different flow fields, they are divided into co-current, fountain mode and counter-current spray dryers.

The following matters need to be paid attention to in daily operation of centrifugal spray dryer:
1. First turn on the centrifugal fan, then turn on the electric heating, and check if there is any air leakage. If normal, the barrel can be preheated. Because the hot air preheating determines the evaporation capacity of the drying equipment, it does not affect the quality of the material to be dried. Under the conditions, the inlet air temperature should be increased as much as possible;
2. During preheating, the valve at the bottom of the drying chamber and the discharge port of the cyclone must be closed to prevent cold air from entering the drying chamber and reducing the preheating efficiency;
3. When the inlet temperature of the drying chamber reaches 180℃~220℃, turn on the centrifugal nozzle. When the nozzle reaches a high speed, turn on the feed pump and add the material liquid. The feed volume should be from small to large, otherwise wall sticking will occur. , Until adjusted to the appropriate amount. The concentration of the material liquid should be formulated according to the temperature and nature of the material drying to ensure that the finished product has good fluidity after drying;
4. The temperature and humidity of the dried product depend on the exhaust air temperature. During operation, it is extremely important to ensure that the exhaust air temperature is a constant. This depends on the size of the feed volume, the feed volume is regulated and stable, and the outlet temperature is not changed. If the solid content and flow rate of the material liquid change, the outlet temperature will also change;
5. The product temperature is too low, you can reduce the amount of feed to increase the outlet temperature. If the temperature of the product is too high, the opposite is true. For heat-sensitive materials with lower product temperature, the amount of material can be increased to reduce the exhaust temperature, but the humidity of the product will increase accordingly;
6. The dried finished product is collected and placed in the pollinator in the lower part of the tower and the cyclone separator. The pollinator should be replaced before it is full. When replacing the pollinator, the butterfly valve above must be closed before proceeding;
7. If the dried product is hygroscopic, the cyclone separator, its pipes, and the pollinator should be wrapped with insulation material to avoid moisture absorption of the dried product.
In addition, for materials with heat sensitivity and low softening point, when the exhaust air temperature is too high, the materials will soften and the cooling air volume needs to be increased.
